My name is Carla van der Linden, born on the 10th of June in 1977 in Herpen, former
municipality Ravenstein. I’ve been interested in drawing and painting since my early
youth.
I studied at the Art Academy in Tilburg, where I finished my education in 2001 and achieved the title Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA). I’ve specialised myself in autonomous painting and drawing.
After living a few years in Oss, I settled myself in 2009 in Heesch, where I bought a house with my boyfriend. In the same year I occupied my studio at the Molenstraat in Oss. My studio is above Art Partner Kunstuitleen, where I work as a volunteer since a few years. You are always welcome in my studio! To make sure that I’m present, the visitation is on appointment.
I get inspiration for my work among other things from books, movies and conversations. An important role herein are my emotions, dreams and imagination. Painting and drawing are ways to express myself. Creating my own world and working with the different materials are giving me great challenges and a lot of satisfaction.
I write from my inspiration and/or make small sketches on which I’m going to base my later work. This way I’m trying to create a relationship between the texts I collect or write and the image that’s creating in my head. In particular in my drawings I make use of free interpretation. I start with “free” drawing and the work that’s formed depends on the way my mind plays with the lines. This way I’m trying to reflect my personality in my works.
In the last few years my work was seen in different exhibitions on different locations, both solo as in a group.
